When I had my first sip of this coffee, I smiled. This is what coffee should taste like. It was a perfectly drinkable temperature, smooth, strong, and smelt divine. There's a tang of bitter just at the end, but the aftertaste is still pleasant. We also succumbed to temptation, and had a salted caramel brownie, which was basically food of the gods. Crumbly browny, chewy brownie, salted caramel butter icing, and brownie again. Drool. AB

One coffee too far... And it needn't have been! An iron fist in an iron glove smashing my face with gusto is the effect of this coffee. No journey to this one. Just too strong, too dark, and in the end... Burnt caramel (rather than plain burnt) Nope, no thanks. Nice smell though. AF

Unfortunately, a poor night's sleep was had by the both of us. As although this bnb is a very nice house, with a gorgeous guest bathroom for our exclusive use, the bed has strange cotton sheets on it. It's amazing what a difference terrible sheets make... :(We make cheese sarnies for later, and jump into Kiki. First stop is takeaway coffee and refuelling (for the car). A takeaway cup, we expected very little from this greasy spoon in a shopping mall complex. Sweet, chocolatey and smooth, this was served at a lovely temperature. A charming cafe in an old rectory (we assume - it looked like it) close to the ferry at Devonport. The coffee was fine... Far too much foam made it a cappuccino rather than a flat white, and left the actual coffee a bit thin. The flavour wasn't much to write home about either. Bonus points for the large bottle of chilled tap water which was brought to our table, friendly service, playing Beatles, and a tasty raspberry and white choc muffin. AB
