Today we head straight to the Tessellated Pavement, one of the natural attractions of Eaglehawk Neck. It's an incredible natural phenomenon, caused by the rocks fracturing into blocks (so precise that they look man made - they're not!) followed by salt crystals forming from the sea water left on the rocks whenever the tide comes in... Or something. Ask a geologist for more information. We were lucky to have it to ourselves; as we leave, 3 carloads of tour...

A lovely quaint cafe, where the Australian grey dollar was out in force. Served our flat whites in crockery that looks donated from a household who have just popped their clogs, very twee but nice to drink from. Perfectly pleasant, but more like a latte than flat white. Not strong enough. Having said this, it wasn't overly milky. Just... Needed more caffeine this morning. Points for the water and the nice little orange chocolate sweet - always a welcome touc...

We leave our quite disappointing lodgings at Swansea backpackers, readying ourselves for a long old day. Today we're going to Port Arthur - the antithesis of all British penitentiaries in Tasmania, indeed all of Australia!First stop, just some 5 minutes down the road from Swansea, is the Spiky Bridge. Part of the old convict coach road, it connects Swansea to Little Swanport. Sited by the old Rocky Hills Probation Station, most of the remains of this area now...

Takeaway effort from the adjoining bakery to our backpackers, so points for proximity at least!It's all about the flavour here. And it's pretty poor. The milk has turned too sugary, and as a result it's a sugary soft drink, rather than a coffee worth of a write up. Poor. (Al Bal barely touched hers...)AF.

This morning we have a 2hr drive to Freycinet National Park, to see Wineglass Bay, one of the "can't miss" sights in Tasmania. From Campbeltown we take the Lake Leake Highway, which turns out to be one of Foxy's favourite drives so far. A good road surface, fairly wide, inclines and corners and no cliffs to worry about on either side! At Wineglass Bay we stop at the visitor centre to pay our national park fee again. It's very busy - full of tourists. ...
