Finally on our last day we had fine, mostly sunny weather so I hit the water to try snorkeling with Geoff. Kitted out in a wetsuit for the first time ( luckily no photos of that! ) I snorkeled off the point for a while but sadly the visibility was fairly poor after the previous bad weather. I think we've been spoiled by our wonderful snorkeling experience at Mirihi in the Maldives some years ago when we could so easily spend all day amongst the underwater magic straight off the beach in lovely clear warm water.
Sunshine meant we actually spent some time in a poolside recliner reading in the sun & we've both finished 2 books this week so that's a first too!!!
We did meet some lovely people - great staff, committed naturalists & friendly guests who all really added lots of pleasure to this interesting stay.
Back to the mainland on Friday & hired a car for the drive to Hervey Bay for the next installment of our islands time......
