Test Run
We finished our trip with a few days in Brisbane staying with Sarah & Chris again. As always it was delightful to be in their home & have their company - thanks guys! We visited my cousins Phil & Maxine & it was a special honor to have them welcome us in this very difficult time. At Phil's suggestion we had fish & chips at Sandgate with fond memories of doing that 4 years ago with them. That afternoon we also caught up with Jan, a friend from Cardiology years ago who now lives at Redcliffe with a view of the sea. A birthday dinner of mustard garlic chicken at home for Sarah's birthday completed a special day. Most of Friday was taken up with a drive to Hope Island near the Gold Coast to have a lovely long lunch with Victoria - always lots of fun despite the standstill traffic on the Gateway back to Brisbane! Sandgate Parkrun just after sunrise was great as always followed by a trip to Carseldine markets for breakfast. We all went exploring the riverside suburbs near Tenerife (Brisbane), had lunch in the sun at a corner pub, walked along the river & through the lovely tree lined streets. It would be delightful if Sarah & Chris could afford to live around this area one day. Brunch on Southbank with Russel & Anupa was followed by a shopping session for a new running watch for Geoff & some fleecy windproof clothing for me - hooray for Uniqlo. Hopefully this gear will help me keep up the daily walks now the weather has turned cold at home. Home to Canberra to find our house & cat in immaculate condition as we did last year. Enormous thanks to Glynis & Alan for all they did in our absence. Once again it's good to be home, a bit sad that our trip is over & hard to adjust to the cold weather but no doubt all will be back to normal soon enough. I'm so happy to have been able to see the beautiful places we went, enjoy the warmth, the snorkeling, the landscapes & the family - thanks to everyone.
