Sorry it's taken a while to write on here but not to worry more of my adventures to follow, but as it's been about 6 weeks i hope you don't get bored of reading alot of writing...!
From darwin i went down to broome but since it was a 27 hour bus journey i stopped for the night at kununurra half way in between. The west coast didn't bring good karma to start with as i witnessed a pretty shocking car accident. There was a head on collision, one car ended up on fire and the other car landed upside down after spinning in the air and flying over the barrier, both cars must have been doing atleast 80mph each. The car that flipped only just missed the windscreen of the bus so we were pretty lucky to not being involved. I didn't take any pictures out of respect as i don't know whether anyone died or not.
Anyway i'll try to cheer up the mood now!
On the way to Broome i was asleep for most of the journey and i half remember sub consciously sleep talking! when i woke up i noticed that every kid near me under the age of 8 were looking at me funny and grabbing on to their mum's arm for dear life!
In broome i went on a sunset camel ride on the beach with a couple of people from the hostel. I also went to an open air cinema where you sit in deckchairs and saw jackass 2.
Coral Bay was a beautiful little town with crystal clear waters, i just chilled out at the beach for a couple of days. When i left however i found out half way through my bus journey that greyhound has messed up my bus booking and i was in fact stranded as the connecting bus i was supposed to be getting didn't run that day! Great......! i ended up getting the opposite bus back to coral bay and got there at 3am! the hostel doesn't open until 8am so i ended up sleeping rough for the night!
I was quite glad i stayed an extra 2 days in coral bay anyway as i went deep sea fishing and caught 6 beauties of fish! To make things better both the crew had outstanding facial hair! the fish were all pretty big and ended up cooking them up on the barbie that night, lovely!
Went to Monkey Mia with a couple of canadian girls and a german guy for a couple of days, this is where the dolphins come up to the shallow water and are literally about a metre from your feet!
We then went to Kalbarri where we rented a car out for the day, had a really good time. We visited Hutt River Province which is officially listed as another country in Australia., there's some loophole that got accepted and this farm is actually a country, the owner (a prince) took us on a personal guided tour! Had to get our passports stamped to gain access too! Also visited the Pink Lake (because it's pink) and the Kalbarri national park where it was beautiful. On the way to take the car back to the garage we stopped off for some food but as we left Amber who was driving managed to crash into the back of another car, oops! luckily the other car owner didn't care as his car was old and battered already and our rented car only had a small scratch on the bumper which the garage didn't notice!
Didn't do much in geralton, i was back on my own again but just drank for 2 days solid with a dutch guy and a french guy from my room. The town didn't really have much to offer me so i moved on to Cervantes and visited the pinnacles. The pinnacles themselves were alright but the amazing sunset made it special! sounds weird but look at the pictures and you'll see why!
Well that's pretty much the west coast of australia, i did it in 3 weeks and have been in perth for the last 2 and half weeks!
I love Perth it's definitely the best city i've been to so far. i'm staying in a cool little hostel where everyone knows each other so it's really communal, on my first night some of us went out and me and a scottish lad called Gordon went to a karaoke bar after the clubs shut, although i kept on falling asleep on the sofa so didn't sing anything in the end...... i actually was going to sing honest!!
Apart from going out most nights i've not really done too much in perth considering been here so long! Been to kings park a few times which is cool, there's a great view of the city from the top and its really chilled out there. Also been to the beach, saw Perth Glory play a football game at their ground and been to fremantle markets and fremantle prison and did a tour around the underground tunnels that the convicts dug. Also went to see Ugly Duckling play a gig in a pub, it was a great start to gigs for me for 2007!
Xmas eve everyone from the hostel went out as fancy dress, i was a festive pirate! the hostel manager made us a fat xmas meal but there were no pigs in blankets.......what!!!? Woke up late on xmas day and went down the beach and went to the pub after that and got merry for the rest of the night!
New years eve went to a couple of clubs, me and my mate fernando were the last to leave the 2nd club about 5am and walked home, although we came across some random house party on the way and went in! the guests were loving us saying we were funny and gave us loads of free wine, although after about an hour the owners chucked us out for not being invited!! It was funny though!
Right that's about it for now, i'm off to thailand tomorrow where leila will be joining me too for 6 weeks! hopefully the bombings in bangkok have now finished but if you don't hear from me again you'll know why!
peace and love
