Another Chapter in my adventures.........!
Arrived in Sydney and the first person i see at the airport is Olivia from Fiji and New Zealand! what a small world!
Got to the hostel and went with a beer with Mike from New Zealand travels, we watched the rugby cup final, well i had some beers and half watched some egg chasing anyway!
Next day me and mike went on a boat cruise round sydney harbour and cruised around to a few other stops and got off a few times to explore different areas. Ended up at darling harbour where there was a Latin festival called Fiesta, saw some cool music and dancing. We walked up the Sydney Harbour bridge pylon and got some good views, i was going to do the whole bridge walk but couldn't really afford it cos it cost $180 and the pylon was only $9 with similar views! Did the opera house......tick
Mike's birthday we went to Bondi beach chilled there for a bit and went out for steak meal which his sister sent money to him to pay for which was rather nice for me!! the meal was really good, you get to choose your steak and cook it yourself on a big BBQ and help yourself to salads, potatoes etc. Best steak ever! We got really drunk, what a shock and ended up staggering home at some time. Also went out for a drink with Olivia too
Had a fantastic 12 hour bus journey to Melbourne, i tried sleeping the whole way!
Walked round Melbourne centre and the harbour. Next day i went on a Great Ocean Road trip, lots of nice scenery, saw some koala's and a kangaroo hopped infront of the bus, fed a wild parrott too.
I saw a beatles tribute band but only stayed for 2 pints cos they were pretty rubbish, these aussies can't pull it off!
Neighbours day was immense! Got picked up early and got on the bus and sat there was Tom that i met on the bottom bus in New Zealand! before coming away everyone said i'd keep on bumping into people, i didn't believe them at first but it's true i bump into people all the time!! We went to Erinsborough High School but couldn't go in as it's a real school. Visited Grease Monkeys and Carpenters cars and all of a sudden someone walks out from nowhere.........it was Harold!! if i was american i would've been making whooping noises at this point!! He's such a legend, we stood around chatting and got my picture taken with him too! Meeting him has made travelling all worth while!! We also went to Ramsay Street and walked around. In the evening we met Lynne, Ned and Paul, it was ok but i was hoping for some better characters, although since i met Harold earlier it made up for it!! The best part of the night happened later though when Dr. Karl Kennedy and his band came out to play a live set for about an hour! it was so cheesy but so good at the same time! played a few of their own songs but mainly covers, they opened with Somebody Told Me by The Killers. He's also had a fat beard cos he's been growing it for a storyline! The story should be in England about March time so have to wait and see what the story is!!
Off to Tasmania in a couple of hours so i'll let you all know how that is when i return!
Much Love
