Our last day in Tokyo was spent taking in sashimi at Tsukishima Markets, visiting the Omiya Bonsai Museum in the northern part of greater Tokyo and seeing the modern and traditional at Marunouchi - the Imperial Palace and afternoon tea on Nakadori Avenue. However the highlight was dinner at a Japanese restaurant down the road from Sawanoya Ryokan in Shinobazu Dori. Although we can't speak Japanese and the waitress and chef couldn't speak english, we ended up having the best experience of Japanese food on the trip so far...sashimi and tempura with a glass of local white wine followed by quality osake. So good we went there again on our last night in Tokyo. Today we travelled to Kawaguchiko, actually Oishi on the northern side of the lake. Intially weren't sure of our choice of accommodation at Sakuya guesthouse. But after an onsen bath, views of Mount Fuji from our window and a nice filling dinner, we have yet again hit a good one.
