hey all...had a great time in Boston, went to the Cheers bar and had a burger and bought a t-shirt. First tourist thing I have bought!! Went on a tour of the 'walking' city today and learnt all about how the Brits pillaged their way through the east coast and the yanks fought for their independence. Very informative. Went up the Prudential Tower for some great views of the city, walked the Back Bay along the river and relaxed. Bloomin cold here though,so I was glad that all my thermals and gloves, hat etc were left at the hostel. I had a good Thanksgiving dinner at the hostel yesterday and went downtown to some Irish bars. Boston is pretty much Little Ireland. The North End or 'Little Italy' as it is known is fantastic. Lots of small bistros and italian deli's, very pretty. I treated myself to a fancy dinner and the waitress was suprised to find that we did not indeed celebrate thanksgiving in the UK???? Funny that eh? ;-))
It is 19:30pm and I am about to enjoy a 24 journey via New York to Toronto with a 5 hour layover in NYC at Penn Train Station. Whilst this may seem a good idea, I am a little concerned that it is Black Friday (sales day) and every where is hectic!! just like Boxing Day sales.....i hope there is somewhwre to leave my rucksak so I can wander?? Couldn't face a 5hour wait at the station without checking out Times Square again.
One last thing...I have changed my flight back to the UK to the 30th rather than the 29th...one more day won't hurt eh?? That means that I owuld have exhausted my full 90 day allowance. Bosotn is amazing and very beautiful....shame to leave and not to see other things, but that seems to be the nature of this trip....dammnit! I was also offered $15 tickets to watch the Celtics play basketball....seems like I keep missing all this opportunities!! Can't be helped I suppose.....will check back when I am in Toronto..
ciao for now
