Due to recent popular demand, it has been noted by my US counterpart Terry that my blog haas been all about me. So, I will give my opinion so far on the american culture that I have witnessed. It appears that each city is lost in it's own ideas, customs and some are unable to think outside of the box and thinbk about what is going on i nother parts of the country. Outside of California no one seems aware of anything else that is going on in the world. The fascination with padded footbal players is unbelievable. I settled down in a bar to watch an american footbal match, only to find that the screen constantly switched between multiple games, showing only small sections of each. If I was watching Chelsea then had to endure 10 minute segments of play from other matches I would be annoyed. LA does not know what it is suppossed to be. San Francisco has too many homeless people and all the young people seem to be trying to recapture a far gone period in time when 'make love, not war' was a battle cry. These aged hippies sadly are all addicts, homeless or indeed yuppies who make there fortunes in a system that they spent so long fighting against. I have found California a state that has everything, with people of all denominations. The homeless here receive paychecks! Each place is like travelling to another country and I am sure whenI am in Vegas later this afternoon I will get another perspective as I leave California and land in Nevada. I know one thing...it's gonna be hot! Sad to leave San Fran, as I experience the best cheese steak sandwiches I have ever (tried) had!! bye for know xxx
