Dear all at home
The trip to Halong bay was not what we had exspected. The scenery is very beautiful, but there wasn't time to relax, most of the time was transport and another good portion of time were spend waiting for the crew. We came back to Hanoi and had to spend another night there. The following morning we took the train to Ninh Binh. We rented some bikes and went out to Binh Doch Pagoda. In the evening we went out for goat - which is a speciality in Ninh Binh, we were both disapointed. The next morning it was raining a lot, so we stayed inside. In the afternoon, we rented a motorbike, intended to take us to the Bai Dinh Pagoda. The way out to the pagoda was amazing. The limestone pinnacles, ricepaddies and rivers with lotusflowers was beautiful. We drove at some small roads, which brought us out to locals houses, hidden rivers, it was fantastic. We reached the place we thought was the Bai Dihn Pagoda. We climed up a small hill, and came to some small caves in the limestones. Inside the caves was beautiful alters, golden buddhas, smoke from roegelsespinde which all created this holy atmosfere. We were the only tourist. Later we found the pagoda we was looking for. It was incredibly huge. We will load up some pictures when we get back to Singapore.
In the night we were picked up at the hotel for another night in a sleeping bus. This morning we arrived safely in Hue. It is a fun experience sleeping in a vietnamese night bus. Although it is a sleeping bus, the driver is honking the horn almost every ten minutes, the bus is jumping and the locals are yelling througt the bus.
After tjecking in to the hotel, we went out fore pancakes, local coffee and juice. The rest of the day we spand walking around the city. Tomorrow morning we will be leaving for Hoi An.
Good Night

Unclel Warren Hi Martina & Christian, Glad that you are enjoying Vietnam, and travelling together. Sounds like the countryside around Hanoi is lovely - not sure I would like the "sleeping bus". Prefer trains. Lots of love and hugs from Aussie, Uncle Warren
