Day one of the big fluke trip and woke up at Skeltons lets just say feeling a little special from the weekends antics!
Despite a heavy head Simon as promised dropped me off at the bus in Hammersmith with only one wrong turn on the way.
Next quite a lot of hanging around while everyone paid their deposits etc glad I went to the London meet as there were a few familiar faces.
Shortish drive to the ferry sitting with an Irish bloke called eoghen didn't think I would find my first language difficulty to be on English soil but there have been a few nod and grin moments from both of us I think.
Missed most of the ferry crossing due to the incompetence of Orange well and perhaps also a little bit my fault for not sorting my phone out earlier it's not easy swapping contracts when the boat has set off to France and signal is rapidly depleting.
On the Ferry we had been told to sort out cook groups now I would like to say I played an active part in this but that would be a lie. Standing up on the deck with eoghen we were approached by a middle ages lady (now known as Alison) saying that she was looking for a young strong man (to be fair most single ladies of that age are however this time is was to do the heavy lifting that is involved whilst doing cook duty) so to cut a long story short there it was the first alliance, Alison, Eoghen, Lorren (I think she had also been caught up in Alisons excitement) and me cook group number 5!
First bush camp was in the ladies football field in Belgium with spagbol for tea after a game of hakisac (some practice needed by all)
After dinner went on a fruitless hung for beer with a few of the others and had an early night in my new home for the next 6 months!
Tune for the day on the road again
Next stop Germany!
