Ahhh ... another day, another country!
Been a couple days since we've updated this site, but that's cos we've spend the last 3 days driving across this god for saken continent!!!! It's been nuts, but we are in Malawi now, another stramp in our passports, arrived yesterday afternoon and stayed at Chitimba Camp and then back in the truck for another drive today, but it was only a short drive, about 5 hours, the previous days had been about 10 - 12 hours each day ... crazy!!!!
So, to back track a bit, we were in Zanzibar for 3 days I think - and it was amazing! I loved Zanzibar, was just the most refreshing, relaxing place, absolutely post card stuff. I don't think I updated this once we got to Zanzibar really, but we went snorkelling off one of the sail boats, and then went on a sunset cruise, was amazing. Had all our clothes washed by the local ladies, got 12 items cleaned and cost us the grand price of $5 or $6 AUD, Tuck and Sal, take note ... this is cheap!!! he he. Our tour group had a black bag party one of the nights, which I'm trying to upload photo's of - might have a bit more of a dip tomorrow, got loads of good ones and just so hard to get a good internet connection to get them onto the website with. Anyway, on Saturday we caught the ferry caught back from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam and it was terrible sea sickness everywhere, and needless to say, Fluke and I were out there with the rest of them heaving our shoes out through our mouth over the edge of the boat! Yuck ...!!!!
Then we got back to Dar es salaam, stayed another night there and then headed off nice and early at about 5am Sunday morning for Malawi. But not before sharing our bed that night with a big dirty old rat!! It was so gross, we made up our room, layed our pillows and sleeping bags out and then went to a bar to watch the 20/20 cricket game on tv, when we got back our sleeping bag and a film cannister had been all chewed up by rats, and we could hear then scampering about at night and squeeking .... needless to say I didn't get a very good nights sleep that night. So after 2 days pretty much straight on the road, we haven't really got that much to report over the last few days, been reading lots of books on the truck as apart from that there isn't too much else to do. Played uno a bit, and slept ... Tomorrow I think we are going on a village tour and we get to visit the local orphinage, which again will be great but a bit sad. Apartly 70% of the kids there are AIDS babies, just crazy. I'll try and get on tomorrow and spend some time uploading photo's if the computer lets me, got some great ones ....
Great update shells .... didn't know about AFL, or local game! Would have been good to watch! We gotta start getting some sort of PR from Ms Williams ... but great that she came back to us, woo hoo for Beater!! Can't believe prison break is back on - didn't even know there was another series, Fluke is gonna be busting to get home now, that's awesome news! Near on makes me want to come home sooner, although the time is flying by, over half way done now and it's flown by! Sale Cup sounds awesome, guess it'll be an awesome catch up when we get back, and Norza I'll be calling home sometime tomorrow, I'll try and work it so it's a normal hour, it's 8 hours behind here so will call your mobile sometime on Wednesday and see where you are and say g'day and let you know it's all bonza here for us! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOLDO ... I've sent you a postcard/birthday card but not sure how long it's gonna take to get there, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANYWAY!!!! Tell Kain I am very proud of his spring onion, but a bit grossed out that he ate is straight from the ground .. gotta pickle it first buddy!!!! Woo hoo for Willis getting teeth, but gotta say about bloody time though, now he can mung out on spring onions as well, he he.... OK, better go cos few people wanting to use the net, will try and put photo's on sometime tomorrow or the next day before we leave Malawi anyway!
Love and hugs to everyone, missing everyone so much .... take care,
Spud and Fluke xxxx
