Little Chloe's intrepid traveller guide!
helloo.
Feel better today the soroche (altitude sickness) hasnt been so bad, which is good. Didnt wanna be hiking for 4 days in the freezing cold, passing out and vomiting every 5 minutes, plus the whole not being able to stand up thing could have been a bit of a problem!
Anywhos, last few days have been hard. Had to leave everyone behind, who ive got to know so well now, which is a rare thing when your travelling, usually u dont spend more than 1week with someone! Grown very attached to all of my kids, and my students and the volunteers, and the people who work at the center. Managed not to cry tho. Took loads of pictures of my kids on my last day, dont think any of them really realised i was going as they all said 'see u tomorrow'when they left.
For the last 2 nights my students took me out, went to bars and restaurants, and even a karaoke bar in a casino? Was amusing . (is v. hard to sing in spanish, especailly when u dont know the songs.) As per ush. they wouldnt let me pay for anything! Thay all got me cards and presents, and told me to come back soon, and even gave me their addresses syaing im welcome to stay with them whenever i come back- how sweet is that! One girl even cried! They said they dont like the new teacher, ha ha!!I am the best . . .
Wednesday, managed to leave my card in the machine (was 7am and only had 4hrs sleep.), which was and still is a bit of trauma.
Cuzco's a really nice city, only thing is its bloody freezing.
Bought a few bits and bobs yesterday (who says retail therapy cant fix anything!?) Ended up buying a poncho! Not sure if i liek it, but its warm , and only cost 15soles (3pounds), another hat 8 soles, and some more socks.
Even had a warm shower too which was nice. Am staying at a hostel right in the mainsquare for just 25 soles a night (about 5pounds).
Anywho, gonna go have some breakfast,
Much love me
