We are in VEGAS Baby!! This place is like nothing on earth! We arrived around 1400 and when we got to the hotel we were like WOW - so stoked with the hotel that we were put in - finally the Astar company have done something right. What a Day!! First we took a ferry to THE ROCK - Alcatraz Island. We wandered around the Island and watched a short Discovery film about the Island - was actually really interesting to know all the different things that the Island has been used for - Military, Prison, Indian Occupation, National Park We did an audio tour within the cell block - this was GREAT - it told you so much while giving you a walking tour - and it was told by actual officers and prisoner...

This place is so cool - it is our favoure so far. We once again are loving this weather!! Today we did a hop on and hop off bus tour - we have done a few of these in different cities and were actually pretty disappointed with our tour guide on this one - all he told us was when each building was built and then whether or not it survived the big earth quake - not so interesting!!! Well it did take us a whole day to get here!! This is me waiting at the airport in Seattle. Dallas airport was pretty cool though - we could have spent our stop over time riding the air train as that was heaps of fun but we restrained ourselves to only a couple of rides and not even the whole way around. We are off to do a big sightseeing day tomorrow - but already we like it here so should be good times ahead - definately liking this warmer weather

A big fish market as well - we stopped and had some fresh fish and chips which was cool. The guys who were cooking it were surfers and said they had been to NZ but only to surf off the west coast so next time they were hoping to actually step foot on land ...
