So today we got up and walked to Blacks for breakfast in the village. From here Jas and I went to explore Whistler a little more and try and find the giant Inukshuk which we eventually found after running through and trying to avoid the sprinklers watering the lawn. From here we walked around Whistler and ended up in Rebagliati Park before making our way back to the village. We approached he village from the other way and so ended up in the Upper Village which had quite a few shops totally out of our price range so we quickly made our way back to the main square where we explored the shops fully and made a few more purchases (no more hoodies yet!).
After our shopping extravaganza, I headed with Anil to catch the shuttle bus to Lost Lake where we had some lunch and a walk around the lake. We then walked back to the village and realised that we really could have walked to the lake too instead of catching the bus! When we got back to the village I rewarded myself with an ice cream!
After my morning of walking I joined some of the others in the group to go zip lining. When we got to the centre we were harnessed up and then collected our helmets and climbed in our jeeps which were going to take us to the start of the course up an extremely dusty hill (and guess which bright spark was wearing a white tshirt - yep that would be me!).
When we got to the top of the hill we exchanged our biking helmets for zip lining helmets and then we were off. The course consisted of 4 wires, the first one was the highest, the second the longest, the third the fastest and the fourth the most romantic! They were all totally amazing and different to the one in wales as this time you we facing forward and sitting up. The first wire was so very windy and I realised I had another wardrobe malfunction as my tshirt started to fly up around my face (not my finest moment) so I was zipping down the wire trying to pull my tshirt down and not spin round in the wind. My favourite one was the fastest one as we went last and watched Martin and copied his technique so we went pretty fast. I did record them on my action camera but won't be able to watch it until I get home (and I forget to press record on the second one so only got 3!).
After the excitement of the zipwires we made our way back to the hotel for a quick shower and change and then meet up with some of the others and went back to the grill from last night for more yummy food and grown up slushes! Oh and we might have popped into the hoodie shop and I may have bought myself a new hoodie (sorry Gem and Ads - I was impressed I lasted this long and I really do think I will need another jumper for the coldness of Alaska!!).
