Well today was another fabulous day! It started as always with getting up and breakfasted and then I had a little bit of time before my tour started so I had a chill, read my book and chatted to a couple of the other people in the group. Then I made my way down to meet the others and we walked to the old powerhouse to meet our guides for our day's adventure - rafting 20 miles down the river, followed by a scenic flight over the mountains and Glacier. Well there is only one word to sum up today and that would be wet. We woke up and got showered and dressed. As we are staying in McCarthy we have shared bathrooms. Although we are technically staying in a hotel it is actually more like a hostel so we got up early in order to get a hot shower before the day had begun. So after our showers we went down for breakfast and then went to get the shuttle to Kennecott the mining town down the road. The raining was liter...

So the day started as any other day when we need to check out with me wrestling my suitcase shut and despite me not putting anything extra in my case it seems to be getting more and more difficult. From here we went to Safeway to buy some supplies and saw lots of bunnies along the way. Something I forgot to mention was that there are so many wild rabbits around Valdez. So from here we started our journey to McCarthy. First we travelled past the old Valdez town...

Today started off brilliantly because I could have a lie in and breakfast was included in our hotel so it was a win win! Add to this the fact that we then saw so much on our cruise it made the day unforgettable. So after breakfast we headed out to the parking lot to prepare our lunch by the trailer (now I've written this it sounds a little odd but each morning we prepare our lunch for the day before we leave and today it just so happens we did this in the parki...
