/10/06 - Left The Nunnery at 10am on the Sky Bus to the Airport. Caught flight at 12.15pm to Brisbane with Virgin Blue. Smooth flight, got into Brisbane at 2.15pm and got the train into the city. I remembered to get off at South Brisbane station, then walked across street to Bus Terminal, where I also remembered the Bus No. 202 to Shelley's! Maybe my memory isn't that bad after all! Got off just before Shelley's to go and check into Greenslopes Motor Inn, where I discovered they had stuffed up my reservation and didn't actually have a room for me until tomorrow night and they were full!!!!! I was not happy!!!!! I ended up sleeping on Shelley's couch for the night!! Thanks Shelley, most appreciated! Peter, the Manager of the Inn must have felt awful, as whilst I was waiting for Shelley to pick me up, he made me a nice cup of tea and got some nibbles for me, as I was starving! Shelley picked me up and we ended up having a really nice evening having dinner with her family who were also staying with her for the wedding, so it was a full house, but it all worked out fine.
/10/06 - Busy day running round with Shelley sorting out all last minute bits and bobs for the wedding. It was a fun day, Shelley got a bit stressed, she let off steam at Simon in the afternoon, then she was fine. I ended up checking into my room at the Inn after we had all had dinner together at Shelley's. I had a bit of a pamper then went to bed, ready for the wedding tomorrow!
/10/06 - Yippee! Wedding day! Met Shelley, Trina (Sister), Carolyn (Mum) at the hairdresser's at 11am. Had our hair done and Shelley had her make up done too. We then walked back up to Shelley's and had some lunch. Barry (Dad) had made some lovely sandwiches. Pete (Trina's husband) dropped me back at the Inn and I got ready for the wedding. Pete picked me back up at 3pm. We all then got a Maxi Taxi at 3.10pm together. Wedding was superb! Gorgeous setting in a beautiful garden and they were very lucky, because as soon as the ceremony was over it lashed down of rain with thunder thrown in too! Managed to get a lift back to Simon's parents house (where reception was, in their back garden in marquee) instead of walking! The rest of the day/evening was just such good fun, lots of champagne, laughter and dancing! Thank you everyone for a great time! I won't be able to listen to Meatloaf again without thinking of you all!
/10/06 - Slept in, then we all went over to Simon's parents, Julie and Frank. Gosh was I tired! I just about made it through the day! The BBQ was going when we got there and we all tucked into sausages, bacon, tomatoes, eggs, etc, etc... The weather was a lot better than yesterday. There was lots of laughter again, especially when everyone got into games of Jenga, it was hilarious to watch. I sat back all day and watched everyone else, I didn't have the energy to do anything else! I think this travelling lark has well and truly caught up with me!
/10/06 - Decided to have a very lazy chilled out day, whilst Shelley and family went to Australia Zoo (I had already been). I slept in until about 11am, watched TV, got showered and dressed and wandered down the road to Subway and got a lovely Tuna/Salad wrap for lunch. Shelley rang me around 5.30pm, to say they would be back in about half an hour, so I took a slow walk up to her house. We all had dinner together, then Trin, Pete and I went back to the Inn, as we were getting up at 4.30am to go to airport. Luckily for me our flights were 15 minutes apart, so I was going with them in their hire car. Got back, packed, but didn't sleep too well, had indigestion, too much food and wine over last few days!
/10/06 - Left our keys in box outside reception and set off at 5am. We found our way to airport very easily, left hire car in correct car park and wandered over to Virgin Blue terminal. Checked ourselves in (I love this self check in lark, it's soooo easy), handed our bags over and wandered down to our gates. Trina and Pete were off to Cairns for a few days alone, before rest of family, including Shelley and Simon met up with them. I was off back to good old Melbourne. Flight was good and was back in Melbourne 15 minutes early at 9am. Managed to find the Skybus ok and got dropped back off at the Nunnery. Fortunately room was ready, so I crashed out for most of the day! But shock, horror, no TV!!! My single room last time had one? Never mind, will probably do me good, as will go to sleep without watching it until a late hour!
