I love Vegas!! It really is a big playground for adults and we had the best time there. I would go back in a second!
We spent 4 days there in total but on one of those we went to the Grand Canyon so it was a very action packed few days. On our first day we took the Deuce bus along the strip to the Venecian. The Venecian was incredible, it almost felt like we were in Vencice. It has the gondola inside and has the painted ceiling so that it feels like you are outside. It has the actual casino, lots of shops and of course the hotel and lots of restaurants and bars. Playing on the slots for the very first time Rhona won herself $29. Not bad considering we were playing on the 1cent machines!
That first evening our hostel organised a night out to one of the night clubs. We went to a club called Tryst. It was very fancy and even had a waterfall in it. Drinks were extortionate and a table cost $1000! Needless to say we stood all night. Despite not being able to sit down it was a fun night, but we did go home with sore feet.
The next morning we were up at the crack of dawn for our day out to the Grand Canyon. On the way we got to see Hoover Dam. It was huge. The Grand Canyon itself was very impressive. For me and Lauren this was our 3rd wonder of the world on this trip. I love the way all the rock was different colours. It looked amazing. We saw a condor too flying around then land on part of the canyon and pose for all the cameras. We took the bus around so we could see the canyon form all the different parts. It had been a long day and by the time we got back to Vegas we were exhausted. However this didn't stop us going out to the strip. We went to have a look round Treasure Island. We also got to see the Treasure Island show with all the sirens and pirates. The dancing was great and I'm glad we forced ourselves out to see it.
The next day we went back to the strip to se more of the casinos. We went to Cesars Palace and the Belagio, which was beautiful! We watched the water fountain show at it. We then went to Circus Circus where the biggest indoor theme park in the world is. We then went to Slots a fun as we were told you are more likely to win there. And I did! My first big win, $11.20! I was so happy with that. It was enough to buy me my dinner! I must mention that while in Vegas we had a number of the buffets. They are brilliant as they have so much on offer. Being the sneaky backpackers we are we kept sneaking cakes and biscuits into our bags. Luckily we weren't searched on the way out or we would have some explaining to do!
That evening we got all dressed up for the limo tour. It too had been organised by our hostel. In the champagne we all drank champagne and drove along the strip. It was certainly not something any of us had done before. We ended up in the Mandalay Bay casino. Enrique Iglesias had been playing that evening but we didn't see him, although we kept our eyes peeled! In one of the bars we saw some burlesque dancing. The girls were really good. I've not seen much burlesque dancing before so that was certainly something new, the guys were all loving it! We ended up in another club in the casino where we danced the night away.
The next day which was our last day in Vegas we saw as many of the remaining casinos as possible. We started in MGM Grand where we saw the lions. I can't believe they have a lion enclosure in the casino! That is very impressive. We then went to New York New York and then Luxor, the Egyptian themed casino. They are all incredible.
That night we had our last dinner the 3 of us at the Hard Rock Café. We then went up the Stratoshere where we went on the 3 highest rides in the world! It was so much fun even if it was a little scary. From the top there was an amazing view of Vegas all lit up.
The next morning we split up, Rhona flew to Atlanta and me and Lauren to San Francisco. It had been great travelling the 3 of us so it was sad that it had come to an end.
