So today we woke up and headed to Grants from Silver City. We were, well I was excited about going to the Fire and Ice cave the Mike and Ricky had talked about at work. Well we get there the price was rediculous but we did it anyway I wanted to see a Volcano. Well we have to take this long up hill trail to the crater of the volcano which is cool and all the harden lava around was pretty awesome as well. You could not get to close to the volcanco which sucked but oh well. At one point we were at a marker and said if we looked out we could see 15 other Volcanos that are in the area. That was crazy what's even crazier is that there are a total of 29 in the area. It would be really back if they ever became active again.
After that we hiked down and went to the ice cave which I thought was a cave you could explore like Carlsbad and it had ice in it. Well turns out they have a 70 step set of stairs that leads to a platform at the opening to the cave and all you get to do is look at the ice in the cave and if you touch it you get in trouble. It was 31 degrees down there and felt good the whole 5 secs you stood there to look at the green ice. I was very disappointed in that I expected so much more.
Then when we went back to the gift shop the lady in there wanted us out bad why I don't know we were looking at the artifacts they had and going to buy some drinks. I'm come to learn people in New Mexico do not like that jobs and are not every nice. Well that is until I meet the nice guy at the Fanzz store in the Albuquerque. Which is were we went after that disappointment. Oh I forgot to mention we passed a hitchhiker that totally could have been Charles Mansons twin I swear.
Albuquerque is really not that big they did have a mall which was nice and the nice guy in fanzz sold me some Yankees things. He really knew the way to a girls heart. I got a decal sticker on my car now and a licene plate cover. No everyone will know I LOVE the Yankees.
After the mall we got gas and headed to Fort Sumner, since there was nothing we wanted to do in Albuquerque. We got to Fort Sumner after as it was getting dark and as two storms where moving in which we have seen or been in a storm everyday since we have been here.
It was so hard to find the grave of bill the kid in the dark, but we did and Heather got her pictures though it was a little creepy. Since the storms are moving in we got a hotel at the only hotel in town and waiting out the storm.
