Fremantle, Western Australia
Well everyone first entry and I feel like I have done loads over the last week and many random things. The jet lag was wierd and I spent the first two days sleeping at really wierd times. Forst 3 days was a bit odd me and Ali had to move house for Sarah so we basically packed up her entire life and moved it across town and unpacked it again. The whether was quite warm aswell although according to the locals it is cold!!!!
It gets a little better from then we all drove down to Margret River which is the wine growing region abut 300Km south of Perth if you look on the map. This area is really beautiful which was great because I hadn't seen much until then :) Sarah had rented a beach house in Prevelly which was georgeous; abit like a farm house inside but near the beach and really lovely. From here we went around the region to art galleries and wineries and I have never had so much lovely wine ever :) I learnt how to best smell and taste the wine, how they make Rose and how they make the different varieties of wine, it was so interesting and the bonus was that we went round lots of great wineries and got to taste at least 6 wines free and I was hammered by about 2pm. The we went to the cheese maker place (!!!) and also chocolate factory which is great when its the middle of the day and you are a little drunk!!! :)
So day one down south nearly over but to finish it off we went and drunk sparkling red wine on the beach and watched the sunset go down; wow. The beach was quiet, small and awesome, I'll put pics on soon when I get my computer sorted.
Day two was a little more random doing lots of things like ging to a maze, ice cream factory and picking wild lillies; which grow like weeds and are everywhere. The only dwnside was I saw no Kangaroos which are meant to be everywhere in that region :( I did eat ne though.
For those who know me best I am broadening my horizons; I ate very rare meat and also gobbled loads of Avacado which I knw like alot :) So have got over the irratinal hysteria of that now!!!
Another great thing was the Karri forest it is huge and beautiful and I will add pics soon. There are bears called drop bears which live high in the trees and if you stand still too long they think you are potential prey and drop out of the tree aiming to land on you!! Fortunately survived that one :) But how random!!
Anyway that was the first weeks excitiement really and back to Fremantle. Fremantle in itself is a little different to my preconception. It looks a little american wich small houses with tin rooves and the odd small shop on the corner; again pics to follow. Today Jane and I walked along the river which was more attractive and I have ventured a couple of short runs along the river so far. I need to keep exploring really. Can't go far because it's all so sprend out, I found some great stuff in the region but when I look on the map its 400Km away; madness!!
To end this rambling update I am now sat drinking beer freezing my ass of because it is about 7degrees C and has been pissing it down all day. I have 4 jumpers on and my nose is numb. Where is all the lovely weather?
So all TTFN and if the spelling is bad it's because I have t wack the keys so hard on this computer I keep missing letter so !
F xxxxx
P.S the pic is of Rottnest island which I wil be visiting this week.
