Have just returned from 3 days sailing around the stunning Whitsunday islands on the notorious party boat the Atlantic clipper! The boat was very large and Noortje and I were pleased to discover we had the best and biggest cabin on the boat to ourselves. The afternoon was spent relaxing in the hot tub and sunbathing on the deck as we sailed through the beautiful islands. After dinner that evening we watched an amazing sunset, and then the drinking and games began! We had to get into teams of 7 and complete various challenges, such as eating Vegemite off of someones body, passing an orange between our knees and girl/girl arm wrestling. Very funny! The next morning we were woken up at 6.30 and after breakfast, went ashore one of the islands to visit Whitehaven beach. This is one of the most famous beaches as it has the finest, whitest sand, and the water is almost crystal clear. We saw lots of stingrays and even a small shark, we got out of the sea after that! In the afternoon we had the opportunity to scuba dive. Diving in the great barrier reef has to be one of the best experiences ever! Absolutely breath taking and amazing, saw loads of fish, of all sizes and colours! The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing and chatting to new friends, whilst drinking cups of tea in the hot tub, how very English! After another stunning sunset, the drinking and games once again commenced. Without going into too much detail, a lot of laughs were had, until Noortje dropped her phone in the sea! There is now a big fish ringing in the great barrier reef!
This morning we sailed to another part of the reef for snorkelling, we saw many, many fish, including one called elvis, who was very friendly and liked to b touched, and was so big, he probably weighed more than me!
We returned back to airlie beach around mid day and are now relaxing before the after party drinks tonight!
