After a 10 hour flight, we finally landed into Dar Es Salaam at around 6.30 am. The weather was very wet, but still extremelyu hot and humid. We were due to fly to Mwanza, from Dar, at around 11am but we were told this flight had been cancelled and would have to wait for the 16.40 flight. We finally arrived in Mwanza at 7pm, where we were met by Henry Lihaya (securtray general for the national sports council of Tanzania) David Haskins (UK Sport International Consultant) and Allen Alex (principal of Malya Sports College).
Because it was already dark by now we had to stay the night in Mwanza as the road to Malya was to dangerous to drive to at night.
Went into Mwanza town on the morning to buy tanzanian sim cards and phones. We walked into the shop whewre we were stopped by a guard with a gun asking us what we were looking for, rather intimidating not guna lie....... After 10 minuites of dicking about and 25000 shillings later I had a phone. We walked to visit the local market, which was disgusting. Was all just moldy fruit and veg and smelly meat. Every1 we past was starring at us amazed that there were white people walking about their town. One little b****** went into my back pocket to try and nick summit off me. Henry saw and grabbed him by the throat, the**** soon ran off. After that i gained almost celeb status as every1 was calling me 'wayne rooney'.
