Schools out for Christmas! Huzah! 5 weeks off for my Bolivian adventure. Bloody marvelous.
I am really looking forward to the break as tensions are definitely running high but the least said about that the better. We continue to have difficulties with our Dueña so much so that one night I hid behind Hannah's bedroom door. At my age how ridiculous is that? Needless to say despite her assurances we have ended up with a new tenant. It might though be good for us because despite being a complete nutter he has nothing to do with CEDEI.
The end of term was of course final exams for everyone. It was no surprise that the lovely Javier failed - he even seemed surprised despite doing absolutely no work whatsoever - but Carmita also failed which led to much angst from the other group. The more advanced other group managed to somehow pull off a minor miracle with only 3 of them failing. God knows how they did it but somehow they did.
I expected there to be this huge fanfare to mark the end of term, Whilst there were some certainly some sparks flying around they weren't exactly in celebration of a job well done. We had a really nice meal with Michael and K-10, a meal at the good old Moliendo cafe and a trip to Canar to the market.
It was a great market. They certainly know how to wear a hat! It was wierd though being the only strangers in town! We certainly stuck out a little bit. That night we had a super meal with Coreen, Alex, Chris and Elena so it was fun. Monday was not just payday (!) but a great lunch with Parviz where we said our goodbyes and a guitar concert in the evening just off Parque Calderon. Tuesday was the great pack - just how I have accumulated som much crap in 4 months God only knows and then I was off! Yipee!
