LeftUluru lunch-time and arrived Sydney roughly 4 hours later - I think - because my watch hands are getting a little exercise moving forwards and backwards in time.
We arrived at the Hilton Hotel- to our Executive Room no less - on the 38th floor. Very nice.
Very good view of the surrounding area - high rise office buildings, other buildings and a dual carriageway taking the non-ending flow of traffic in and around Sydney. In fact could have been London with McDonalds, etc., etc.
The Australians and other cultures here are so friendly and talkative, and never at a loss for a joke about Australia and its heritage!
We went out for a walk along the streets of Sydney and found a very nice place for an evening meal. One of the young barmaids sussed us out immediately because she had been in Australia for four months, having come from Burnley (Lancashire for those who don't know). We had a very nice meal and went back to our executive bedroom.

Left Sydney 12.45flight to Hamilton Island. My watch got a little more exercise(can't remember whether forwards or backwards - just obey the Pilot and alter accordingly).
I thought we were going to land on the sea but fortunately the run way appeared and we landed on firm ground.
Hamilton is beautiful - just as Peter and Claire described it.We were met at the airport by hotel staff, luggage taken from us, and were driven to the Beach Resort in a golf buggy. These golf type buggies are everywhere either electric or gas driven.
Room overlooks the beach and hotel pool with very attentive staff.
Frank had a swim in the pool and then we went to the Marina area for an evening meal.Transport is via the golf buggy again - the staff take guests wherever they want to go (within reason). We were picked up again when we wanted to come back - the restaurant staff just phone and hey presto a young girl appeared in a golf buggy again.

Well, we decided to hire our own golf buggy - petrol driven as we found out.We toddled off around the island, stopped to look around the shops in the marina area (usual variety of boats tied up in the marina), then carried on and upwards to a picnic area at a suitable point to see the coast line.Absolutely beautiful viewof Cats Eye Bay where we are staying.
Frank went swimming in the hotel pool again and I sun bathed on a lounger this afternoon.
This evening there was a reception held by the staff for all guests. It was rather pleasant with free drinks and nibbles.
