Welcome family and friends to our holiday journal as we take off on the most amazing journey of our lives through Jordan and Africa.
Five star accommodation it will not be as we leave Jordan and head to Egypt with a 4WD Landcruiser and tent. We will have billion plus star accommodation instead .
The bags have been packed and waiting at the front door for weeks. Mossie nets, inflatable mattresses and sleeping bags ballooned out our luggage leaving limited space for clothing.Weight restrictions means our clothing pockets will be stuffed with little objects so hopefully tomorrow they won't want to weigh the jackets we are carrying onboard.
Planning began almost a year ago with our first look at someone else's magazine article about their trip with" African Expedition Guided Tours" - a company based in Kenya. Gradually the dream of visiting Egypt and African wildlife reserves became a reality. Now with only a day to go before our departure it is really hitting home that we will be away from family and friends for almost five months and we will truly miss not being with family to share Christmas. So think of us at this time as we will be somewhere in Ethiopia with little chance of contacting anyone. Know that our thoughts will be of family and friends even if we cannot wish you a merry Christmas.
