The drive
Today was a long day, like really long day. We drove from Budva in southern Montenegro to the Bosnia border. We headed off with me and mum both having different ways to get there we went a mums way but realised that we had to take a ferry! So we tried my way but we had to climb basically all the way to the top of the mountain Which for me was absolutely terrifying and we were up so high. We started to head off this really small sort of track and that's when i realised that it was like this for 35 miles. So I tried to get us to the nearest main road which was miles away so we spent a good 2 hours on these winding roads on he edge of cliffs with dad having to concrete intensely. We eventually got on the main road and it was ok from then. As we neared the Bosnian border we drove along the river pina which had this beautiful turquoise colour. There was a damn though and beyond it was a really deep valley it scared the life out of me as I was not expecting that at all!! When we got to the Border we were about an hour late and we were supposed to meet the camp people who would take us to the rafting camp which had no electricity, outside showers and toilets so I wasn't really looking forward to it. Anyway we got through the border but we couldn't find the guy so we pulled into another camp where everyone was really nice and they let us use there phone. We phoned them and they said to meet in between the two borders and they would be there in 5 minutes, 2 hours later we were still waiting there so we decided to go back to the camp and see if we could phone them there, while we were waiting for them to come they gave us a free drink and let us just sit down and use there wifi and electricity which the other place didn't have. When the people did eventually come I was a bit said as I wanted to stay at HUM so we followed that guy to the border and then his car broke down! He told us some instructions to go through the border and then wait in some car park for someone to pick us up. At this point mum and dad said that it was enough and we went back to HUM! They had a free room with electricity and wifi so we were all VERY relieved to find somewhere to stay. The room was quite basic but it would do. The room wasn't closed to the outside so there was quite a lot of bugs. I was a little worried to be honest but I just tried not to look for them because if I saw them then I would be worried but I was ok and I slept all the way through the night except when I woke up to go to he toilet, which was the bush. A very long day!
