Even though we arrived last night in Ponta Delgada, we didn't disembark until this morning. It looks like a lovely port town with lovely rolling hills behind, terraced for agriculture and residential. We strolled a bit, shopped a bit (and bought a pin for Joey's collection) and a shot glass for my water aerobics teacher, who requested some from our travels. When it started to rain, we hightailed it back towards the ship, and noticed a wifi spot at the port. Since my Verizon Travel Pass failed to work, I stopped to download. Got a bunch of emails, but if there was a link to something, it would take so long to connect, it wasn't worth it. Back on the ship we had lunch and walk around 3 floors, exploring without having to fight crowds. Before dinner we watched the movie Patriots Day. Interesting and ultimately moving.. and at dinner the people we sat with were effusive about their tour of the island and how beautiful it was. I felt as though we missed an experience on Ponta Delgada. : ( But today on the Holland America ships (as well as in Holland ) it is King's Day - special food, programs, and everyone was encouraged to wear orange, apparently the color of Holland - or the Netherlands. I'm not sure. I should ask...
