We walked around a bit, tried some local rum at a place called Casa Melaza, came across a wonderful hole in the wall restaurant called Deaverdura while we were heading to el Jibarito (the restaurant we researched for having pasteles), and then walked around some more. So last night we arrived in San Juan after leaving the house at 5 am ... Reached the hotel about 11pm, and after a "hearty" breakfast at LAX didn't have real food until after we checked in. (American Airlines will sell snacks, and our first plane arrived late so we had no time to eat before our second flight.). We started looking for food - a restaurant that was open - and right across the street - Denny's! 24/7!! So by the time we sort of unpacked, it was LATE...

Most of you know what Travel is like nowadays: long lines, noisy frustrated passengers, corroded terminals, wait times longer and longer… And The worst was going through Chicago O'Hare, having to stop there to go through customs. If you have an opportunity to go through any other airport, please do so. O'Hare is impossible. We finally arrived home after 24 long hours. Now the unpacking begins.
