Cara here!
So... today (well yesterday, now) was our first real day of planning. Mom and I went to Borders and got an awesome book on western Europe travel (on a budget, or course)! Over lunch we made a list of the places we really wanted to see. Topping the list were England and Ireland which, unfortunately, are going to have to be left for another trip. Making that trek across the canal just isn't going to be feasible with the budget we're working with. Wait... what budget? Guess we forgot to lay that one down. Haha.
We're going rationally all the way. Sandwiches are going to be our main course over what has elaborated itself into being an over 3 week vacation.
Right now we plan on hitting the following cities: Paris, Bern, Rome, Naples (and Pompeii), Florence, Salzburg, Krakow (and Auschwitz), Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Versailles!
Jenny and I are planning on paying our way mostly through the use of student loans. We're going to be contacting our respective school's financial aid offices here in the next few days.
OH! By the way! The trip is tentitively set to begin with a 7:00 PM departure on May 10, 2010.
We'll be applying for our passports in the next few weeks as well.
Well... as scatterbrained as this entry may seem it all makes sense in my head. That's at least a good place to start!
More later... I'm off to bed!
