Arrived in Rome. Waiting for transfer to Hotel. The airport is a fun place NOT. So we are having a couple of beers and eating pizza as you do. When in Rome..... do as they do....

Enjoying the sunshine in Monte Carlo now. Arrived yesterday and here until we fly to Rome on Monday. After leaving the boat in Arles, we stopped for lunch in Cannes and passed thru Nice driving along the Promenade where many people lost their lives in July. Huge floral tributes along the Promenade. A very sad feeling throughout the area. Unbelievable scenery from Nice to Monaco. Huge mountain area and massive tunnels thru the mountains for all the traffic. And ho...

This photo is the famous aqueduct built in the 1st century by the Romans in Southern France. We visited this site yesterday.... Amazing!! Today in Arles and did a tour of a beautiful province in the Alpilles Mountains set atop of a rocky outcrop of limestone with a ruined castle. Great views and such history of course always on cobbled paths centuries old.medieval streets but great little cafes and restaurants and of course the provencal shops. Then off to a ol...

We have begun our 2nd leg of the journey thru France to Arles. Had a delay on this blog site as it was shut down for a few days... Anyway we are now in more of the southern part of France. Today is Tuesday and we are currently in Viviers and very close to Grignan. We toured a truffle farm this morning which was fun and interesting. They use Labrador dogs to search for the truffles - cute as.... :-)) Previously they used pigs.Then finished the tour with tastings...

Final day on this ship. Wayne's gone off this afternoon on a wine tasting tour. I chose the chore of repacking our suitcases as we depart this ship tomorrow morning at Basil as we cross the Swiss Alps and visit Lake Geneva and board again at Lyon. So Last Supper on this ship tonight. The tour director comes with us on the next leg of the journey. We had a Captain's Dinner last night and of course everything was wonderful.
