We have begun our 2nd leg of the journey thru France to Arles. Had a delay on this blog site as it was shut down for a few days... Anyway we are now in more of the southern part of France. Today is Tuesday and we are currently in Viviers and very close to Grignan. We toured a truffle farm this morning which was fun and interesting. They use Labrador dogs to search for the truffles - cute as.... :-)) Previously they used pigs. Then finished the tour with tastings and wine..... As usual don't seem to go anywhere here without finishing with wine. So we were drinking wine and eating truffles at 10.30 in the morning!!! On Sunday we were in the Beaujolais Region and had a great tour of a small family winery as are all of them. The owner and wine maker was a real character.... Talking in French the whole time... But of course in the end of his tour and at the sales pitch time he could suddenly speak English!!!! Hilarious!! He also had a big collection of tools used in the olden days for pruning vines etc some 200 years old. Finishing with wine tasting again in the morning!! Tonight Wayne and I will dine in the small restaurant at the back of the ship called the Chef's Table - only holds 24 guests. A degustation dinner similar to the last ship. Having trouble keeping up with all the activities but feel it is a must. .... We are touring the Grignan Castle this afternoon built in the 15th century and of the Renaissance period. Again finishing with a food tasting wine and a medieval music recital. Weather has been wonderful this week..... Low 20's and sunny. Hope everyone is well. Miss home occasionally .... Haha.... Not the weather! Love to everyone xxxx
