We've gone from 24 - 28 degree weather in Italy to 10 - 15 degree weather in Prague and this is during the day. It reminded us both of that weekend we had in Ballarat lol hello cold! We arrived at our hotel in Prague at 9pm so it was pretty much just check out our awesome, centrally located to everything hotel room (after our tour ones, we were in paradise) and off to bed.
We set off in the morning and purchased a 2 day Prague card which gives you free/discounted entry into venues and unlimited public transport. We visited the Old Town Hall & Tower with the Astronomical Clock and got to see Prague with 360 degree views, just wonderful. We walked past the Stone Bell House as it was under reconstruction and continued onto the Golden Ring House which had an art exhibition which was an eye opener to say the least. At lunch time we took a 2hr bus tour around the city, noting all the famous landmarks, an excellent way to see Prague for the time poor like we were. We then visited St. Vitus Cathedral (gothic church), the Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica, Schwarzenberg Palace, Salma Palace and Prague Castle. We also got to witness the changing of the guards too, quite interesting. After all day sightseeing, we booked a 3hr river cruise which included a buffet dinner. The river cruise was really nice, a good way to see Prague along the river at night, so pretty when it's lit up. After our cruise had finished it was 10pm so we walked back to the hotel in the freezing cold brrrrr.
Our final day in Prague included walking around and around and around, visiting all the shops! We started off with a walk to the Charles Bridge, walking along and back again with a quick visit to a smaller bridge with all the padlocks locked onto it for forever lasting love. We walked back to the Old Town Square and continued window shopping. So many Prague souveniers and crystal glass. We also got to visit a chocolate shop which made even our eyes water, so of course we purchased a few things :) We were lucky enough to be right next door to a 'Pylones' store which had all weird funky and wonderful bits and bobs, again of course I purchased a couple of items here too. So that takes us to now as I'm writing this blog we are about to head out to get some dinner and a very early night to bed as we have to leave at 4:30am to catch our plane to Amsterdam tomorrow. Would I visited Prague again? Definately, I love this city.... maybe even more then any visited in Italy.
