Today was a full day of exploring the great city of London, England!
Changing of the Guards- The first thing my mom and I did today was head to Buckingham Palace to watch the 11:00am "changing of the guards" ceremony. Two musical bands and countless British guards marched around and into the gates of the palace. We couldn't see the ceremony fully, but music, marching, and horses were involved! After we walked down the Hall and talked to a mounted policeman riding a horse named "Hector"
Trafalgar Square- We eventually reached the beautiful Trafalgar Square! It consisted of a large arch, the National Gallery of art, and countless beautiful buildings. We went to lunch at a local restaurant called "Tortilla" and enjoyed what they called a true "California Burrito". We then viewed the new "artist in residence" exhibit at the National Gallery.
Leicester Square- Mom and I decided to splurge and buy some strawberry gelato! Very disappointing-- I think I'll wait till Italy before I buy anymore. We met my dad at TKTS and bought 3 tickets to Billy Elliot the Musical for the night.
Billy Eliott- Before the show we enjoyed dinner at "About Thyme" by the theater. Billy Eliott was a great show! Very emotional story, but the dancing was amazing! The boy who played Billy was a show stopper!
