We arrived in Milan Italy after flying over Paris and the Swiss Alps. The flight was 1 hr 40 mins on low budget airline EasyJet. We didn't have any problems with the airline. The flight was on time, staff were friendly, the plane was new and we got our bags at the other end. We arrived at Milano Malpensa airport and caught an hour bus ride to central station. We have never been so lost! We needed to make our way to Loreta Station and then to our hotel called Hotel Sabatino in Porapora Road. Our backpacks were killing us as we circled the city looking for the hotel, but the scenery was spectacular. Eventually we checked into the hotel and the Italian owners were quite intimidating. At first they told us that they were fully booked and we had to try to explain to them that we had made a booking online in our limited Italian. They then wanted to hold our passports for a while to make copies for their records. We didn't want to leave them alone with our passports, which I think they were quite upset about. The hotel room was very clean and cosy. There were a few drunk Italian girls that came home at about 6.00 a.m in the morning, but that only added to the experience. Milan is beautiful, the brands, shops and ancient buildings are incredible and everyone looks like they are straight out of a fashion catalogue. Zoe and I had an authentic Italian meal at a restaurant in the centre of town before getting lost once again. We were so tired after so much walking that we just crashed as soon as we got back to the hotel. This morning we were harassed by a man who put seeds in Zoe's hands to attract the pigeons for a photo. He wanted 40 euros and ended up with 3 euros. He wasn't very pleased. We stopped at a small Italian cafe for a coffee and we ordered a small fruit pastry and a latte each. Before we knew it we ended up with 2 glasses of hot milk. It was delicious but definitely not intentional. Apparently you have to order a "Café Latte", if you want coffee with your warm milk! Today we are going to look around the city a little more before making our way back to the airport to meet George. We will then take a 2.5 hour drive to a small town called Delsensa Del Garda where we will stay for the next 4 days.
