And it was a fine start to the day, so off to Cardiff. Breakfast at a Little Chef and then straight into the city centre. A quick look around, a peek through the Castle gate (you can't get in anymore without forking-out $60 for a family!). Unfortunately Tom spotted a 'gamers' store right opposite and we spent half and hour looking at Dr Who stuff.
Weather started to get drizzly so we went for a drive up into the Brecon Beacons and a ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway. It was quite enjoyable and Tom seems to like trains too!
Then off looking for Maureen (friend of Sally's family). She's moved to a council flat in Cross Keys. Managed to find the address eventually. She's looking much happier than when we last saw her in her house on Pontywaun 3 years ago. Spent a couple of hours catching up with her, by which time it was 6pm. Back across the Severn Bridge (the toll's £5.30 now!) and into more torrential rain. Quick stop at a Superstore for a few bits for dinner.
Stopped at Devizes and showed Tom the canals and locks before a quick dinner and off to bed....by now it's 10pm, but doesn't feel it as it's still light out. Ian's still doing the washing at 11pm!
