Today, after no sleep (At this point I still have not slept since being in the uk) we went to a place called Ayutthaya. This is the old capital of thailand and is now a world heritge site with loads of temples (Wat's). The most exciting thing about this was the ride on the elephant - Amazing creaters. This morning we got up at 5:30 to offer food to the monks. This involved blessing the food then walking into the village and presenting the food to them. They then said some kind of blessing and then carried on walking. It was all a bit strange. I then went back to bed to get more zzzz. Later on we watched a BBC documentary on buddism and budda. Apparently budda was a prince a very long time ago and founded buddism. Buddism is meant to be a way of living in harm...

The weekend has been spent shopping, swimming in the local swimming pool, catching up on sleep and partying. I am now aclimatised and have no problems sleeping. However I do think it is very hot - even the Thai people don't stop moaning about it. They all want to be pale, so spend their time trying to lighten the colour of their skin. They think it is funny that we do the opposite, this makes me think does everyone want to be different?

Today we went to see the monkeys. I was a bit aprehensive about the trip as we were warned that they bite and love to steal. When we got there I was amazed, it was a normal town swarming with monkeys causing chaos (stopping traffic, stealling stuff etc). It reminded me of gremlins. Anyway we were heading for a temple in the middle of a roundabout, this was home to the majority of monkeys. The monkeys were in all shapes and sizes. I found the monkeys unexpectedly...

Today we visited a primary school. We spent time with all the different age groups. They were amazing. They were all very friendly and sweet. We played games with them teaching English. They seemed to enjoy it as much as us. I have found all the Thai people very friendly and kind. This afternoon I had a thai cooking lesson. I made a papaya salad (I put too much chilli in it) and then I made another dish (forgot it's name). It was all very simple but tasty. Hope...
