This is my first blog entry and the start of my new adventure! The date has been set...14/01/2014 will be the day that I set off to Bogota, Colombia to serve God for 1 year.
How am I feeling?- Nervous, excited, apprehensive, freaked out, impatient and slightly sad to be saying "see you later" so all my friends and family.
Over the past year since God advised me to follow His call to serve Him, I have already learnt a great deal about trusting Him in ALL things. Proverbs 3:5-6 says "Trust in the Lord God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do and He will show you which path to take". I completely believe in these verses and many times God has shown me where to go. From knowing which organisation to go with (Latin Link, http://www.latinlink.org/), to simply trusting Him in which placement He wants me to intially pursue. It hasn't been easy and for someone like me who likes to be in control it's been a challenging time, however God is faithful and He has always come through. The mentioned verses have got me through many an occassion and no doubt they will be revisited time and time again in the next chapter of my life.
Over the past year I have honestly believed more and more than if it is in God's will, it WILL be done. The next step of my journey is now trusting that the funding will all come together (if you would like to donate please visit http://www.latinlink.org/International/How-can-I-give/Donate?origin=International, and follow the form and choose me!) and I will suddenly be a whizz at speaking and understanding Spanish! One thing at a time right ! One thing I do know is that this next step is going to be great for my prayer life .
What do I hope will happen over the next year? I hope that my relationship with God will deepen to a whole other level and I will see more of His Glory. I pray that I will learn more about myself and be able to show more of God's love to those around me. Finally I hope that I can encourage others to know Jesus and his love, and disciple people to deepen their relationship with God and implement this in their lives as followers and ambassadors of Him. Not too much right .
Enough for now,
Un abrazo,
Ciao
