After another lovely night with John and Frances, I had another long bus trip back to London, with the same crazy Scottish driver (there was a rather hilarious incident on the way to Motherwell when someone in a taxi cut him off and he proceeded to shout and yell some French (not the kind I am learning either) at them, before calling (on speakerphone, which meant the whole bus got to listen) to report them to the taxi complaints service and a lot more French to describe it all over again. On Thursday I went to Bath for the day, and although it rained most of the day, I got to cross learning to blow glass off my bucket list! As well as indulging in some scones, jam and cream at the Jane Austen centre and some fascinating hours at the Roman Baths - a wonderful day, although I was exhausted by the time I got back to London!
On Saturday night Lyle (who is 9) and I went to a concert in Kew Gardens - I had no idea who the person performing wax (Brian Ferry) but it was a lovely atmosphere, and amazing fireworks after the concert finished. Sophie Ellis-Bextor was the warm up act - a major blast from the past! It made me feel so old when Lyle hadn't even heard any of her songs, probably how all of the people jealous of me seeing Bryan Ferry feel ;)
Sunday was a lovely day as Jenny and Des were down and we all had a lovely picnic lunch in Kew Gardens - before I was back on a plane heading 'home' once again!
