Day 19 Thursday 10th July
Palm Cove
To be honest, the noise from the 'game', (QLD won by the way.....so saving a whitewash!), did not bother us and we fell asleep before it was over. The night was quiet until we were awakened at around 3.30 am with a commotion in the car park just outside the campground........very loud 'doof doof' music and equally loud yelling and cheering. It lasted for about 30 minutes, then suddenly stopped....someone must have called the police. We are re-thinking our need to return to this particular campsite !!! It wasn't even a Saturday night!!!
So, we were up a little later than sunrise, but that didn't matter. We had a walk and then breakfasted at a cafe. Dave had some work to do this morning, (he does need to earn our pocket money!!), so I wrote postcards to, and bought a little gift each for, the grandchildren. After that we decided to rent a sea-kayak, which we did between 1-3pm. The sea was lovely and calm and we had a good time...even saw a turtle!
It isn't really hot enough to want to swim, so we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing; reading and chatting.......it was quiet with all neighbours out and about!
This evening we went out for dinner and had a delicious meal....Vietnamese crispy whole fish....and Barramundi cooked in banana leaves with lime and coconut. Yum!
A bit of a wind has come up this evening, but it isn't forecast to rain, so all is good.
Let's hope tonight is quiet!
