Our second week in LA wasn't as jammed packed as our first, it was nice to have the time to just chill and people watch. People watching in Hollywood is like nowhere else in the world! We were staying in a really good location was good to be able to walk right along Hollywood Boulevard and have a look around a few shops of course! There were two days of heavy rain, which we were told was really unusual for LA and it was on the news they were concerned about mud slides. Alot of house are built on the famous Hollywood Hills and in one area people were evacuated as a precaution. But luckily nothing serious happened.
One day along our Boulevard walk we came across a massive crowd of people outside a music store. It was a drizzly day so we figured it must have been for something important! A guy saw us looking and told us that Bryan Adams was getting a star on the Walk of Fame that day. We were both suprised that he didn't already have one. Neither of us are 'huge' fans but he's a celeb and getting a star is an exciting event so we joined the crowd to watch. Emma didn't have a hood so after a while she went and stood undercover, Candy stayed and waited to see him. She was standing there for some time when she realised he had been there already for a while waiting to go on the stage! So she got some photo's and we sought out shelter in Starbucks.
That week we managed to bag some free tickets to Jimmy Kimmel Live, which is basically like the Jonathan Ross chatshow that we have at home. It's filmed in a building on Hollywood Boulevard so we were able to walk there easily. Penelope Cruz and an actor from an American TV Show called 'The Hard Times of R J Berger' were on there. It was a really fun evening, the warm up guy was good and picked some people from the audience to banter with which was funny. At the end of the night we were treated to a mini concert by Duran Duran! We both know their old stuff and like them so this was a bonus! They filmed one song for the show and the promotion for their album but afterwards stayed on and done some more songs for the audience. It was strange hearing British accents when they spoke to the crowd! We haven't heard that accent around us for so long it'll be weird hearing it all the time at home. It was a really good evening and even better it was completely free!
On our last night in LA Jami dropped by to say goodbye. Shannon couldn't make it so it was a shame we didn't say a proper farewell to her aswell but we know we will definately see eachother again! It was nice to see Jami again and hangout for a while before we had to go. They both made our New Zealand and LA experience even better! The following day we jumped on the bus bound for San Francisco...
