Hi everyone!
I am just on the train from the beautiful Cinque Terre to Milan! We are only staying in Milan for one night and then heading to our cute little apartment we have in Nice. We are so excited to make our own food and not eat out and we are definitely planning on going to an Indian restaurant! Believe it or not, and I never thought I would say this but we are officially tired of Italian food. There is just SO much bread all over Europe it's insane. I have never eaten this much bread at home and because we are eating so much of it we are just tired all the time! We need some veggies!
We are officially two weeks in and have to week left to go. Time is flying by but also going slowly! Two weeks seems so far!
Cinque Terre was the most beautiful place. We really enjoyed our two days there and wish it were longer! We had a cute studio room with a littler kitchen and bathroom so it was nice to not sleep in bunk beds. We stayed in riomaggiore one of the villages and the main area is about one street of just cute little restaurants and shops. We were told that 95% of the people who live in the Cinque Terre region are tourists so it was completely aimed at tourists. We met a really cool couple from Australia in Florence and they ended up in the same place as us so we spent most of our time with them! It was really cool to hear about Australia and talk about the similarities and differences and overall they were just really cool people!
The day after we arrived we woke up early and Bailey one of the Australians was a yoga instructor so she woke up with me and we did some breathing and yoga in the morning which was so nice! (Mom would be proud of me!) and then we took the train to the fourth village Vernazza and hiked to the fifth village Monterosso. It was just amazing! We thought it would be an easy hike but it was actually quite difficult with some rough patches and really steep steps and hills at times but we made it and went straight into the sea after! Halfway through our hike we had a little picnic and made sandwiches and had a cute little lunch with an unreal view. Everyone was jealous and wish they had thought of the idea themselves but it was yummy, cheap and not Italian food so we were happy! It really was a perfect day. I think I liked hiking - it's going to be my goal to be more adventurous and try new things especially when travelling!
Missing everyone! Arts had a picnic with the family this weekend, really wish I could have been there but soon I'll be in Toronto forever and she'll be sick of me!
Love always,
Eesh
