First of all, the picture for this blog is the view from Gotti and Suni's house into the valley of Bellinzona (you can see the castle if you look really carefully). This is the direction our train headed when we left for Basel.
On Tuesday, David and I headed to Basel. My friend Barbara and her boyfriend Michi (both of whom I'd spent time with the last time I was in Switzerland) picked us up at the station and we went to a restaurant for a double date! They both spoke English really well, so we only had minor translations! Barbara and I talked about girly stuff: ie how david and I met, etc. and David and Michi talked about music and other such things that they found much more interesting!
After dinner, we walked around Basel and had beautiful views of the city at night. Around 10pm, we walked to a cocktail bar where Barbara works and had cokes and talked until her shift started. Michi spent the rest of the evening with David and I and then drove us 15minutes to Molin where my grandma's sister (and Gotti's sister), Rosmarie, lives with her husband Heins.
We talked with Rosmarie and had a cup of tea before heading to bed. The next day, I had a terrible migrane, so David and Heins went for a hike. They could see into Germany from the place they hiked to!!
Later that day, we had a relaxed lunch with Rosmarie and spoke in Swissgerman (I translated for David). Apparently I remember much more Swiss german than I thought! I don't even know how I remember/know so much. Maybe because the first 9 months of my life, my great grandma took care of me and spoke to me only in Swiss German?
That evening, we headed to Thun, a small town on the north of the lake by Interlaken..
