Hi all
Wow... time is flying when you are having fun!
We have travelled trough Malaysia by car and had an amazing 2 weeks. Kuala Lumpur is impressive and the Petronas towers a highlight.
Melecca is "almost" like Amsterdam. The Ducth colonial influence is very noticable.. the style of the building, houses... even the canals. I started to feel like home over there!
The east coast was nice to drive to, but we got to know the "moonsoon"over there, so decided to leave early and go tp the Cameron Highlands... What an amazing place. The Boh tea plantation and the strawberries were lovely. We then drove to the Penang Island which is not, but we really loved Langkawi Island, a bit further norht. As we liked it so much we decided to stay there a bit longer and enjoy having "the beach in our garden" and the sunset right in front of our place :)
Driving (Eros) and co-piloting (joelle) in Malaysia is very very interesting....??!!! especially as people do not read maps and are not even able to tell you where they are on a map... ??!!
We went to Thailand by ferry and travelled for 24 hours all the way to Bangkok by night train, which was an adventure by itself.
Until now we are not overly impressed by Thailand and its people... Bangkok is an amazing city though... so different and huge. We also enjoed going to Fitness First where I participated in a Thai Body Combat class... so funny!
We are now in Cambodia on day number 3 of our semi organised group tour of 30 days. The group is nice and it is really pleasant to not have to worry about transport & accomodation. Cambodia is great. Thanks to the french colonial influence we can have some "real"western food and relatively affortable red wine (even if wine is still 2.50 USd a glass and local beer 0.75 USD a glass...)
We have not had the possibility to prepare picture, but I promise you that they are on their way
Thinking of you lots
kisses E&J
