We woke up in the guest house and I enjoyed a Nutella baguette for breakfast. After putting our rucksacks on an ants nest, we were finally back on the truck to return to the slow boat. It was a far more relaxing journey as we left on time, had seats and were able to read at leisure. We played a game of Pit and Irish Snap, had a beer and before we knew it, we arrived in Luang Prabang.
As thought, they dropped us off at a dodgy port and we were forced to pay a large fee for a tuktuk into town. We crowded into one and made our way to the very dirty LPQ hostel which ironically stood for 'Like Perfect Quality'. It was anything but as 8 girls were crowded into a 4x6 room and my top bunk had no metal railing to prevent me falling - it just had the sharp and rusty edges of where it used to be.
The girls and I went in search of a meal but were again ripped off as we didn't realise the restaurant was attached to a hotel. We then visited the night market where I bought a bracelet, headband, shorts, dress and a pair of trousers - whoops!
We then went back for an early night as we had a bus booked for 9am the next day to take us to the waterfall. We met two girls in our hostel from Liverpool who recommended some great places in Vietnam which we might try to book before we go. Eventually we settled down for the night where I hugged the wall and was scared to turn over during my sleep. I survived, just.
