Yesterday we travelled to Koh Sumui (Koh Soom Oye)! This island is the biggest ... and it's so different then Phengan. Tehre is an actuyaly highway. i like Phengan becasue it's more homey and personal...but i think we will still have a good time here. We are here for five days and we pretty much have them all planned out! Today we walked into town scouting for STICKY RICE!!! i'm so glad we found it, it was so delicious. Today was definitely a day of yummy food. The Rice is cooked in sweet coconut and then it's wrapped around slices of banana, wrapped in a banana leaf and then pan fried. The end result is a sticy, crunchy, goey mess of awesomness..i def reccomend it! We ended up booking a snorkeling day thing...including breakfast and lunch and going to the marine national park to snorkel! (cost us like $40..sweet.) We totally talked her into a deal. Satisfied with that..we looked at all the clothes..there are so many pretty things i want to buy here..but i have to restrain myself! i bought a skirt and some gouchos for 500 baht (thzt like 16$) and that was half the price that he wanted though ahaha. We walked home and decided to eat at this thail place we saw in the morning when we were heading into town. OH my gosh, it was so good. I mean so seriously that it was so good that we actually asked the ladys to give Ashley and I cooking lessons..so tomorrow at 3pm that's what we'll be doing!! I'm so excited. Ash had grilled beef salad, it had baby tomatoes and green onions with sweet onions, beef and this amazing dressing. I had Pan fried Duck in a young ginger sauce..and it was so good i had to stop eating for a second and just take it in. HAH. John got the fried fish and green mango salad that we peer pressured him into getting..and it was the most perfect fish dish i have ever eaten. Well maybe not ever, but it's the best food i've had in a long time. So we are going to make those things tomorrow and the best part is..were only paying 300B for it ($10) and all the cooking lessons we saw were for a hundred dollers. Even the cheapies were at least $20. Wicked. We are planning to go to Mr. Poo's BBQ buffet tonight...just becasue of the name of course..should be good times..out.
