Irish Tales
Visited Cong - a little Irish village used by director John Ford for the Irish Classic "The Quiet Man" (filmed in 1950s). I was 'brought up' on this film - family favourite because of the scenery. At the time, it starred very famous actors, including John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara (statue) - you might need to ask your grandparents if they remember these actors. It was a lovely town and at the time of filming the actors mixed in with all of the locals - no heirs and graces - which is always nice to hear. John Wayne would spend every day chatting to the locals and he'd always need reminding to get in the car and drive to the filming spot. :-)
