Well so far Quito is nice. We were here about five minutes before we ran into Jeff on the street and made a date to meet him later that night so he could show us the local night life. I was feeling sort of meh but 2 gin and tonics cured that and we had a fun night out- first at a bar owned by a guy from Vancouver (we moaned over the lack of Caesars) and then at a night club. Good times left very late without realising it and somehow managed to remember how to get back to our hostel. Yesterday we wandered around a local market where I bought myself more jewlery. Sensing a pattern anyone?
Today we might go to old town. I may beg off and just hang out and read and do nothing cause I am feeling lazy today.
Hilary here - let me clarify the above - today I will be going to the Old Town - yesterday felt lazy enough for me, and we know how good I am at sitting around and doing nothing... I was raring to go at 7.30 this morning, but nothing actually opens on Sundays, as far as tourist stuff goes, until about 10, so I've had to reign myself in and catch up on some journal entries. Definitely excited to go check out some of the old churches and the architecture and whatnot, though. I'll give Erika a few minutes to sort herself out, then off I go.
