We made it here finally! It was a long trip but we made it in one piece. We left Amarillo at about 3 pm and flew to dallas. We were supposed to depart dallas at 5:30 but the boarding time was delayed an hour. We finally got on the plan to learn that the plan had a flat tire that they were going to have to replace...we sat in the plane an other hour before takeoff. Once off the ground every thing went well. Ava was really good the hole time. She did not cry or whine during the flight and we didn't have to scold her at all. We flew through the night and Ava got some petty good sleep. Missy and I tried unsuccessfully.

We arrived in Madrid at about noon local time. Jett-lagged badly, we made our way through the airport and even booked our room from the computer. We got onto the subway after feeling like idiots because we didn't know how to use the metro ticketing machine. The subway system is very nice and fairly easy to use. We got out near our hotel then got on a cab for the rest of the short trip.

We checked into our rooms at about 3 pm. They are very simple and clean and also right in the center of the city in an area called plaza del sol.
