Roevsygt men noedvendig.

I'm still in Brisbane and still living with bruce and Chris. They are awesome and dont ask of anything. I help a bit here and there and give a little money for food, so it doesn't really get any cheaper.
An update since last time:
The 9th in the morning Dan and Jon got the car, and I got my stuff out of it, as I was staying and they were moving on. I walked around for a bit, looking at shops, before I got on the train going to Wilston. Packed up with my backpack, purse, bodyboard and a winegift for the McPhersons I walked in the 85degree hot sun. Pretty warm and damn heavy! Found Fifth ave. and it was so nice to see the McPhersons again. They are the same very nice people I met two years ago.
The 10th I didn't really do anything besides surfing the net for the cars. Boring as hell, but necessary.
On the 11th I met with a French couple that had a Ford Falcon up for sale for $3800. (Instead of just walking the 10min. the actual walk was, I went the wrong way and ended up hiking for 50min - again, in 85degree weather). The car was too rusty and worn out, and it had hardly any backpacker equipment in it, so I offered them $2900, which was probably more than I would have given anyways. After that, I went to some hostels to check out adds, but nothing interesting.
The 12th I was up at 4.30 to get ready to go with Bruce at 5.30. He works near Surfers Paradise, and I was going there to check out a few cars I had looked at over the net. (We drove his bike down there! Wee!) The first dealer (who, by the way, took me forever to get to, because I once again went on the wrong bus) had already sold the car I was interested in. Then Greg called me up - this other dealer, who had a Holden Commodore (turned out to be a toyota Lexcen, but they are the same basically). He was on his way to get it through Roadworthy, so I went right along. The car is fairly good. No beauty, and she does have some scratches and dents here and there, but besides that OK and only has 110.000miles on it. I had to withdraw money over two days, so I couldnt bring it home with me that day.
So the 13th I took the train and a bus to Ashmore to meet with Greg once again. He is quite the character, though - golden fingerrings, gold chains around his neck, earrings, small bodybuilder type. Greg was at the mechanic, whom we had been to the day before. As it was Friday and Greg apparently had had a tough week at work, he needed an after hour drink - which ended up being 3 cokes with whisky. I had one just to keep the crew company. They were all equally funny looking. Because of the one too many drinks in his system, I had to drive Greg home to his wife, where my car was anyways. She and I did all the paperwork and could finally leave. Was back in Brissie around 8pm. The car ran just fine, but it takes a little getting used to being in the wrong side of the road. But now I'm the proud owner...or, at least owner, of a car.
Today I was fairly early up as well, as I was going to Mooloolaba, about 55miles from Brisbane. I was going whalewatching on 'Steve's Whale One'. Unfortunately we did not see any whales (last day of the saeson), but we did at least see some dolphins. They were cute too. Got home around 4pm and started cleaning the house. Around 10pm I drove Ling (a Chinese student who also lives here) to the university to a computerparty. Took the GPS. You know how the GPS is always a certain amount of yards behind you? It got just interesting enough as we had two roads really close to each other. I took the second road, but found out really fast, that I had taken the wrong one. Soon I had oncoming traffic! Realized it quick, before any harm was done, so got away with the scare and a few 'damn you!'s to the GPS.
