I pull myself away from my sister and leave in a car to the airport by myself. I am so happy there will be a familiar face in Greece. The thought of being alone is devastating. Strangely, time spent with her deems this unimaginable yet, ultimately it is my existence. I text Kyla, for a reminder that I am not alone in this world, and she promptly responds reassuring me. The irritating tune of Beyone's "All the Single Ladies" is a comfort and I am reminded of that funny video and of every wedding I've been to since its release.
The man at the check-in counter is the nicest person I have met in Prague. He jokes with me about my 'favorite number' and I am reminded that at the core of it people are just people, desiring to connect. I like that. Normally, the people here stare at you, right through you even, unrelatable.
Last night we were taken far out of the city by an untrustworthy cab driver after a few drinks at a local spot. It is amazing what people think is okay. He claimed to not speak English after fully welcoming us into his cab just minutes before in our mother tongue. What, does he think we are stupid?! We threw change at him and got out of the cab... lost. We found a bus stop and Sara ended up taking the bus for a second time this trip- good for her! A young traveller, who spoke English helped us on our way as we followed the gps dot on her phone back to our hotel. We had laughed earlier that day because we could never find our hotel in Prague even with the gps dot and sometimes even if it was right in front of us.
We had 2 days in Prague. The first we spent on the Charles bridge, wandering the Prague castle and just generally poking about, for example in this great old book store where the proprietor was cutting his toenails at the desk as we entered. We spent most of the day with our necks cranked up, looking at the amazing architecture, which we eventually grew accustomed to. We joked about how it was difficult to discern the hand painted facades and intricately detailed etchings of each structure; each one more glorious than the next, yet grouped together they become unnoticeable. Yesterday we wandered somewhat aimlessly and saw everything we needed to. We sampled some Czech sausage and beer, saw the old clock do its song and dance and sat in the old town square on the warm stone. It was a wonderful trip with Sara, she is great to travel with and reluctantly I look on to the next portion.

Marilyn Yuck on creepy cab drivers!! And people who cut their toenails in public. Horray for nice people with GPS dots to share! You needed a bag of large red potatoes - one to stun the cabbie and others to reward the nice people.
sara nice pic!!! good work with cute checkin guy. i misunderstood my checkin girls thick accent, and answered "yes" to "do you have a webphone?" errr which was actually, "do you have any weapons?"
